The Mid-Atlantic coast off Maryland and Virginia  is famous for charter fishing. The deep offshore  waters  and bottom structure provide the opportunity to catch Bluefin, Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna, Sharks, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi (dolphin-fish), plus trophy fish such as White Marlin and Blue Marlin.

Fishing from Chincoteague places us close to many of the top Mid-Atlantic area offshore hot spots and deep water canyons which have provided fantastic Marlin and Mahi fishing over the past couple of years.

Our Chincoteague location allows us to offer Lower Charter Rates than the Ocean City and Virginia Beach Charter Services!

White Lightning is the largest and most comfortable charter boat operating out of Chincoteague Island.  Tournament quality fishing tackle including rods, reels, lures, and all the bait required for your trip are included in the charter price.  All you need to supply is your food and drinks for the day.

The crew are US Coast Guard and Virginia licensed captains with over 30 years of charter fishing experience. We are also members of the Chincoteague Charter Boat Association and the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce. 

We are dedicated to making your day an enjoyable and memorable experience. We cater to all levels of fishing skill from first timers to seasoned anglers and encourage your participation in all aspects of the trip.  Want to learn how to rig a trolling bait that will catch a Marlin or Tuna?  We'll show you how it's done and let you try it yourself.  Spend time with the captain on the bridge helping to spot fish, learning about the electronics, or just enjoying the view and watching for whales and dolphins.

2012 Season Charter Fishing Rates

Offshore Fishing  (11 to 12 Hours)    $1600
Deep sea big game fishing for Bluefin, Yellowfin, Bigeye, and Albacore Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Sharks, and Marlin. 

24 Hour Overnight Adventures         $2900
Experience a mix of offshore trolling for Tuna, Marlin, Mahi-mahi and Wahoo during the day and chunking for Tuna, Swordfish, and Shark at night.

Rates are for a charter group of 1 to 6 people  and exclude gratuity.   First mate works for tips and a 15% gratuity is customary.

Rates are subject to change pending fuel cost so please call for best available current rate.

A $300 deposit is required to secure your reservation. Deposit Checks should be made payable to "White Lightning Charters, LLC"

If weather conditions prevent us from taking you out you can reschedule your trip for another day if available, or you will receive a full refund of your deposit if you can't reschedule.
